Movie Review: Spies in Disguise
Spies in disguise is an action-packed,
animated film that was released in 2019. This entertaining film is filled with
very cool spy stunts and humour that will make you roll on the floor with
laughter (and includes a lot of witty catchphrases).'
While being full of action
and comedy, its story is unlike any other, its ideas are out of this world and
its scientific gadgets are next-gen. This movie is also voiced by many famous
celebrities like Will Smith, Tom Holland and D.J Khalid. Let me tell you a
little bit about the movie.
This movie features Will
Smith as the voice of an arrogant lance sterling, a spy, who is accidentally
turned into a handsome blue birdie, which makes this movie even more
captivating. Tom Holland is playing the role of a young quirky gadget guru
named Walter, who holds responsible for lance’s transformation into his avian
form. Throughout the journey, lance is annoyed by Walter’s presence, his weird
gadgets and his transformation into a pigeon. Lance’s hate for pigeons is more
than any other thing. Along the way, Walter keeps annoying him by telling him
indirectly that he is turned into an even better spy when he is turned into a
bird, for he sees this situation as glass-half-full, but unfortunately, Lance
sees it the other way and his hate grows more for his form. “Rats with wings”
he calls them.
You surely will enjoy the
Blue-sky animation, with all the vivid graphics it is hard not to enjoy this
sort of movie. I personally think that this movie is the perfect one for the holidays. Having animated movies like Ice age movies, the duo movies of Rio,
Ferdinand, Horton hears a who and many more, this movie is one of the best that
Blue Sky has to offer.
Walter, in this movie, has a
very strong belief that his way of thinking, his gadgets are going to change
spying forever as his mother had told him earlier in his life, and his aim is
to get lance to believe that, so that he can change the whole agency’s
thinking, so the whole world’s thinking can be changed and so that the world
can be more peaceful. It is inevitable to see that Lance’s primary and only
option is to “fight fire with fire” while fighting with super villains while
Walter only enjoys making bombs that release pink glitter with kitty visuals
(aww.) which are, according to Sterling, is: “oddly effective”. Walter wants to
use his scientist mind, to bring people together not to tear them apart. At one
point, Walter has to force himself to tell him that “There are no good guys or
bad guys, just people.” And guess who’s thinking wins out in the end? Seems
like a very clear message, or at least a relevant or necessary one.
It is great to see that this the movie is taking place in great locations like Venice and uses cars and new age
gadgets. It is also nice to see that Lance realizes that he can’t drive his
super sporty Audi without his opposable thumbs or touch a touch screen, but he
can sneak in anywhere and won’t be noticed, and clearly, his avian form is
better than his normal one.
I am a great fan of this
movie and it is good to see that it is giving something new to this world and
is involving comedy, action and a hint of drama. I personally think that the
casting for spies in disguise is perfect as well as the friendly chemistry
between the two heroes is good and is humorous. My favourite part has got to be
when he has recently turned into a pigeon and he is trying to get into his car,
and I bet you will love it too! One thing I would recommend for you to watch out
for the features of lance, which match a lot with Will smith's. also, to add
that the villain is also awesome and is bold. I can say without a doubt that
this movie is the best one has seen in the past sadistic year; its plot and
story and locations are awesome!
Needless to say, one of the
best spy movies ever!
Until next time, Au Revoir!
